Certificates are provided for works such as rewires or specified work done in special locations such as bathrooms, kitchens and outside. Landlords' certificates (EICR) can be commissioned for existing installations. This will highlight apparent faults in the system and advise on improvements and upgrades. An EICR report should be done every 10 years, or 5 years in rented accommodation. 

EICR condition reports are mandatory for properties rented in the private sector.
